The whole Bible tells one story – the story of God’s redemption of people through Jesus Christ. Because of this, Jude was able to pull examples from the Old Testament to challenge his New Testament audience to stand for the Gospel.

He reminded them of God’s judgments on the Israelites in the wilderness, fallen angels, and Sodom and Gomorrah. God’s judgments on those who rebelled against Him in the past serve as a warning to those who would rebel against Him in the present. Just as they did not get away with their rebellion, we won’t either. So, there’s an urgency to turn to His grace and live in the salvation He has brought us in Jesus.
