Having hung on the Cross for several hours now, Jesus knew the end of this dark day was near. As He hung there gasping for breath, our Savior uttered His final words before giving up His spirit, and then He died.

What were Jesus’ final words?

“It is finished!” With His last breath, Jesus uttered these words. These very words hold more significance than we could ever imagine. Jesus was not giving up or saying He had been defeated. This history-long plan to save us from our sins had finally been completed. Jesus had paid the price once and for all!

Were these words of defeat or words of victory? Why?

We no longer have to live as if we are defeated, because Jesus made us clean by His death on the Cross. Live in victory!
