There are two key truths that God’s Word reveals in Genesis 3 from yesterday: (1) Sin must be paid for, (2) but God provides payment for our sin. God shows that sin must be punished and cannot be overlooked, no matter what type of sin. When Adam and Eve sinned, God covered their sin with garments of skin. An innocent animal had to be killed as payment in order to make this happen.

This sacrifice had to happen to appease God’s wrath. Something had to take the punishment from God for the sin. Romans tells us that all sin is met with God’s wrath or punishment. This is why it is so important to have the final sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. He was the One who paid the price of God’s wrath for all of humanity.
