Week 36 Devo – TUESDAY
Have you ever been in a season where you felt as if there were no end to your pain? Maybe you have experienced this feeling, or maybe you are feeling this way right now. 2 Corinthians 12:9 states that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness, meaning our worst, darkest or saddest moments are the places where God’s power resides. When we experience these painful seasons, God does not abandon us to fight our depression alone, even if we cannot see or feel Him. Matthew 11:28 makes it clear to us that He desires to give us rest in our weakness. He is a refuge in our time in need! If you are feeling ashamed of or in your depression, that shame is from the Enemy, not from God. Just as Jesus’ power is found in weakness, the Enemy’s lies take root in our weakness. God is the Jehovah Shammah, “The Lord that is there,” and He is there in every battle. The presence of sadness does not mean the Lord is absent.
