Week 44 Devo – TUESDAY

What Are Our Defenses?

In this Scripture, Paul encourages believers (if you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior) to put on the whole armor of God. Yesterday we discussed that our weapons are not worldly. Today and the rest of this week, we’ll discuss more about what weapons: the full armor of God. God’s armor is not optional; it is necessary for our spiritual health and victorious living. In today’s Scripture, we see two things that are a part of God’s armor:

  1. The belt of truth
  2. The breastplate of righteousness

God’s Word (The Bible) guards our minds against the lies and the deception of the Enemy. Righteousness protects our hearts, ensuring that we live in alignment with God’s character. These two parts of the armor of God help is to walk in integrity, honesty and love. As followers of Christ, we are in a spiritual battle, and we can’t be unprepared.
