Week 44 Devo – FRIDAY

What Are Our Defenses?

We learn three things from this Scripture:

  1. Submission to God’s authority brings freedom, setting order and direction of our everyday life for those found in Christ.
  2. Submission to God means giving up our wants.
  3. Submission to God means choosing to intentionally follow Him.

If we do these things – the Devil will flee. This does not mean that we will never struggle with anything ever again. This does mean that our weapons are not worldly. We have a hope, and we are waging war in things that are unseen. Colossians 1:17 says, “He [Jesus] is before all things and in him all things hold together.” When we submit ourselves to God and surrender our lives to Him, He is the One who fights for us when we put in the active steps to surrender and submit to Him – putting on the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes with the preparation of the Gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit.

How will you actively put on the armor of Christ as we have discussed this week?

Which part of the armor is hard for you to be “all-in” with?
