Week 2 Devo – WEDNESDAY
Our relationships can often be hindered by cliques and social norms. The world says it’s not cool to be friends with people who aren’t like you or don’t have the same hobbies. Everyone is expected to stay in their lane and maintain the status quo. This is especially true at school, but the Gospel shows us a different way.
Philemon and Onesimus were from very different social classes, but Paul told Philemon to treat Onesimus as a brother. The Gospel tears down social barriers and calls us to relate to one another as family. Consider your relationships at church. Are there students whom you know are believers, but you treat them differently at school because they’re in a different social group? You should treat them as an equal brother or sister, and show the world what the family of God is really like.
Whom can you befriend who is different than you?
