Paul was confident that Philemon and the church meeting at his house would not only do what he said, but go above and beyond. Philemon had demonstrated love for believers and faith in Jesus before (v. 5), so Paul was sure that he would do it again regarding Onesimus.

When your parents, teachers and friends ask you to do something, are they confident you will follow through? We should have a reputation for doing the right thing. Better yet, it honors Christ when we don’t just do the bare minimum. Go above and beyond to do what is right, today and every day.
