We often elevate things of this world above God, talking about them more than we talk about God. We may use our social platforms to voice our opinions about politics more than our opinions about God. We may fear a political party more than God Himself.

The common thread that contradicts all these tendencies and so many more is that as Christians, we are finally and fully accountable to God. In the end, when Christ returns, no president, dictator, emperor or ruler of any kind will sit in the Judgment Seat. It will only be God with Jesus at His side. We are fully accountable to God alone. This mindset should frame everything we do and speak, lead us in what we post on social media or don’t, and show us whom to honor and fear.

We recognize the importance of our citizenship and staying informed and participating in our civic duties and voting our biblical values, but we must always remember that we are God’s and His alone.
