Nothing should control us.

1 Corinthians 6:12 is a powerful verse as we learn to navigate the many options presented to us in life. God has given us free will to make our own choices, but when we are no longer in control of our decisions, we run into a problem. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:12 that he will not be mastered by anything. When a choice to enjoy something becomes an inescapable addiction, we lose the freedom Christ wants us to live in. Friends, sugar, grades, music and sports can all be fun choices that become idols that control us more than we control them. Jesus came that we would have freedom (Galatians 5:13) and He wants to see you walk in that freedom today.
