Week 9 Devo – THURSDAY

Come, Lord Jesus

When John came face to face with the risen Lord, he fell at Jesus’ feet as though he were dead. He was awestruck and speechless. The glory of Christ was so overwhelming that he could not remain on his feet. In our sins, Jesus’ holy presence would surely destroy us. No one could stand before Him and live. But Jesus died so that we might be able to live in His presence forever.

The Living One reached down and reassured the trembling apostle that he didn’t need to fear. Jesus had conquered death in order to bring us to life. If there’s no need to fear in His presence, there’s no need to fear at all. The One who is the first and the last lifts us to victory. So, look to the One who died but was raised (v. 18). Look to the Son and live.

What would it look like to live knowing Jesus has conquered death?
