Week 22 Devo – MONDAY

Gospel Relationships: Boldness

Paul is unapologetically unashamed of the Gospel! He understands that the Gospel – with which we are timid at times – is the only thing that has the power to save lives. God is calling us to live by righteous faith, even among people who don’t want to commit, who don’t appear genuine, and who perform tasks with the least amount of effort possible. This is a bold declaration of God’s power and purpose.

We all have a team or school for which we cheer. We get bummed when they lose or don’t do well, and we are ecstatic when they win or beat the odds. It’s all part of being a fan. Fan is short for fanatic. We must take on the heart of Paul and the understanding of what the Gospel has done for us and what it can do for our family and friends. The Gospel saves: dark to light, dead to alive, abandoned to welcomed. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. If there is anything we should be fanatics about, it’s the Gospel!

Why are we not as bold for the Gospel as we are for our favorite sports team?
