Another sign of Christ’s humanity was hunger. Jesus fasted before He began His earthly ministry. Before He ever gathered His first disciple, He prayed and fasted to seek the will of God. When believers seek God before anything else, it’s funny how quickly Satan tempts us. In this passage, we see Jesus as He is tempted by Satan in the wilderness.

List the three ways that Satan tempted Jesus.

Each one of us faces temptations today – to lie, cheat, steal, look at inappropriate images, gossip, feel prideful, etc. But if you’re found in Jesus Christ, you’re forgiven! And you’ve been given the Spirit of God – the same God who stood up to Satan in the wilderness and was found to be without sin. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11)! Take courage in your fight against the world (Ephesians 6:12), that you’ve already been delivered from whatever you will face.
