Week 22 Devo – WEDNESDAY

Catholicism

When it comes to matters of salvation, Christianity is the only faith that maintains that salvation is received by grace alone through faith alone so that no man can boast. This is no different in the Catholic Church. There is a constant urge to do better, to do more to pay for our sins. This is seen in the made-up theology of purgatory and the penance made after confession. The Cross is sufficient for our sins, and any act to earn our salvation is as if one is saying that the Cross was not enough.

Why is salvation not a result of works?

What did Jesus’ death on the Cross accomplish?
