Jesus washed feet, fed thousands, healed the sick, taught the Gospel, and so much more during His time on earth. In Acts 20, Luke recounts when Jesus said, “it is more important to give than receive.” Jesus led by example. Mark 10 describes a time when Jesus told the disciples that true greatness comes from serving others. When He told the disciples to serve, they obeyed. So, why shouldn’t we? Jesus led by example during His time on earth, showing us the importance of serving. In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul reminds us that we are to be imitators of Christ by not only living the way He called us to, but by Paul’s own example. Looking at these examples of service, we need to remember Jesus’ words and actions and apply them by serving Him and others in obedience through His example.
