Week 2 Devo – WEDNESDAY

Disciplines: Evangelism

In this passage, we see Peter exemplify what we must do and the message we must teach. Peter begins by stating that there is no partiality with Christ – no group will receive more favor than another because of social status, race or age. Peter tells them that anyone who believes in Jesus receives forgiveness of their sins.

Peter is a great example for us because he speaks the truth boldly. The truth is not attractive to most people, and this is why we need to pray for boldness. Believers are not led to Christ because of persuasive words, but through the work of the Holy Spirit. The message that Peter taught was Jesus and forgiveness of sins. Sharing the gift of salvation that rests within the Crucifixion, death and Resurrection of Christ meant to Peter more than his own reputation. May we take Peter’s example and live it out in our own lives.

  • How do you think the Gentiles responded to this message from Peter?
  • What makes you hesitant in allowing God to use you? How will you overcome these fears?
