Week 2 Devo – THURSDAY
Here is a unique account of praise during a time of suffering. First, understand that suffering for the name of Christ is a blessing. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” This blessing assures us it is a privilege to face suffering with Jesus by our side. In our Acts passage, the apostles faced suffering, and the first thing they did was pray. They prayed for boldness and that the Lord would be glorified during this period of suffering. They realized they could not do it on their own, and there was a need for boldness in sharing Christ. The one comforting promise these apostles had was that they understood the source of their strength – in Christ alone.
