We’re digging deep on this Monday morning. Below are “Seven Key Truths in the Book of Hebrews” (which is also the language in which the Old Testament was originally written) based on the rest of the Bible … and what is revealed in Genesis 1.

1. God exists. The first step in pleasing God is acknowledging His existence (Hebrews 11:6).
2. God existed before there was a universe – and will exist after (Hebrews 1:10–12).
3. God is the main entity of the Bible.
4. Creator – God has done what no human could ever do. The Hebrew word bara – “to create” – never involves a human subject. It refers to work that is uniquely God’s.
5. God is mysterious – God has a triune nature: three in one.
6. God isn’t dependent on the universe; the universe is dependent on God (Hebrews 1:3).
7. God is Creator of heaven and earth. God doesn’t modify matter that already exists but calls matter out of nothing (Psalm 33:6, 9; Hebrews 11:3). God makes all things new!
