Growing up, did you ever mix dirt and water to make a “mudpie”? (Kind of gross!)

We see in today’s passage that God does something even better with dust than we could ever fathom. God created us – mankind – from dust. It is crazy to think of dust turning into something “very good” but we see here that along with the dust, the very breath of God was breathed into the nostrils of man. God is who makes us good. Mark 10:18 says that there is no one good but God. Since God calls us very good in Genesis 2, we can know without a doubt that God loves us enough to put breath into our very lungs right from the beginning of time.
