Week 31 Devo – THURSDAY

Creation: New Life

One of the first things Adam and Eve did after they ate the fruit was to feel shame and fear. Shame is a painful feeling of embarrassment caused by the knowledge of wrongdoing. This is one of Satan’s tactics to prohibit us from being effective in our Christian life. If he can get us to feel shame for our sin, we will run away from God in moments when we should be running to Him. And when we consistently run away from God, we run to the things of the world to ease the pain.

Scripture tells us something completely different. Paul reminds us that we have no condemnation if we have trusted in Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. Our sin has been paid for. The debt has been wiped clean. We need not feel shame because all has been forgiven. Let the freedom from sin wash over you today and allow you to run to God, no matter what shame you feel.

Are you carrying any shame with you today?

What is keeping you from releasing that shame to Christ and fully running to Him?
