Week 27 Devo – WEDNESDAY
What is the measure of God’s love? Paul is doing his best to show us here. God’s rich mercy toward us demonstrates His great love. The grace poured out in salvation shows us His love. But the cup of words cannot contain that fountain of His love. It spills over like running water. The greatest vessel could not contain it in order to get a sufficient measure. Like Paul, we are left with the word “immeasurable” (v. 7). And just how immeasurable is that love, which has been demonstrated in the undeserved grace and mercy of the Gospel? So infinite that the “coming ages” of eternity will not be long enough to exhaust His kindness in Jesus. You are loved, and with Paul, “I pray that you … may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love” (Ephesians 3:17–18).
