Whether you realize it or not, the people who surround you have certain levels of influence on you. A common adage says, “Show me the top five people you hang around, and I’ll tell you the type of person you are.” First Corinthians 15:33 tells us “Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals.” What a wake-up call! Friends have such a huge influence in our life! God wants the best for us. God wants to be the most important relationship in our life. He doesn’t want to fight for control of your heart. He wants all your heart, but He also wants you to have great friends who build you up, not tear you down.

Take time to examine your friendships. Are they healthy ones that help you draw closer to the Lord?
