Week 48 Devo – TUESDAY
When you think of Moses, what comes to mind? A burning bush? The Red Sea? A mountaintop experience with God? A bronze serpent? Looking into the Promised Land but not entering? Moses was generally faithful in God’s work, and the Hebrews honored him with great esteem—but he was not Jesus. Moses was a servant of God, but Jesus was the Son of God.
Moses led the people out of Egypt, but he was unable to set them free from the bondage of sin. But Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant, which leads us into the promises of God. As we follow Jesus, we should guard our hearts, challenge one another to be faithful, and fight against sin. By faith, we should obey God in every area of life. Trust the Word of God and draw near to the Son of God. He overcame every temptation so that we could live in freedom from sin.
What are some of the strongest temptations in your life and what are you doing to overcome them through Jesus?
