The truest expression of joy ever known has been Jesus Christ. In His perfect knowledge of God’s goodness, He was able to walk in obedience to His death, knowing that His sacrifice would bring about life for many. By this, we know that true joy is selfless.

An age-old maxim says, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” We know this is true because biblically, joy comes from forgetting ourselves and focusing on the true giver of life. When we selflessly give to others, celebrate those around us, and love our neighbors, there we find God’s joy.
