Week 1 Devo – WEDNESDAY

Finishing Strong

Sometimes things get worse before they get better. Imagine if your mom were diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to undergo a 14-hour brain surgery. When she comes out of surgery, she looks much worse than before, but she is on the road to healing. Without the surgery, she wouldn’t have survived. Sometimes it’s the things we wish we never have to go through that God uses to save us.

In Acts 27, Paul shipwrecked into a sandbar, and the waves began to break the boat apart. But God used the wreck to save the lives of all on board. In fact, broken pieces of the boat were used to get many people to shore. In our lives, God has a way of using the broken things. He has a way of taking the wrecks and using them as a way to rescue us – from pride, from sin, from a destructive path, and more. Don’t despair when your life feels like a wreck. God is at work, bringing you to His plan for you, and using every part along the way to make you more like Jesus.

How has God used the broken parts of your life to make you more like Him?
