Week 14 Devo – TUESDAY

Worship is a reminder of how awesome God is

One of God’s attributes is that He is omnipresent, which means that He is everywhere. This is difficult for us to understand because we’re always trapped by location. You can’t physically be in two places at once. This does not apply to God. He is everywhere at once. His presence fills all of creation. He truly is an awesome God!

Where are some places that you’ve traveled to?

The reality of God’s omnipresence can be both comforting and convicting. It’s comforting because you’re never alone. Maybe you feel like you’re the only authentic follower of Jesus at your school, in your family, or in your circle of friends. However, you’re never alone. God is always with you. He is with you at school, at home, at the mall, everywhere, and He will never leave you.

Read Deuteronomy 31:6 and fill in the blanks.

“Be strong and                              ; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the                          your                  is the one who will go with you; he will not                      you or                                  you.”

The omnipresence of God can also be convicting. Have you ever asked yourself, “Would I be doing this, watching this, or saying this right now if God was here?” Guess what? He is. God is always there. The presence of His holiness should compel us toward holiness.

Worship is more than a song; it’s a reminder of how awesome He is.

When you remember how awesome the Lord is, this is will cultivate an attitude of continual worship of Him in you. Your awesome God is always with you, so you should seek to always worship Him.

Is the omnipresence of God more comforting or convicting to you? Why do you feel that way?

Whether you’re comforted or convicted by God’s awesome presence, now is the perfect time to take these feelings to Him.

PRAYER MOVEMENTS

Hands Up

A sign of surrender.

Read Psalm 95:6.

God is your maker. Worship Him today. Surrender to the truth of how awesome He is and that He is worth following.

Hands Open

A sign of emptying out.

Read John 16:7-8.

What is the awesome presence of God convicting you of today? Empty out by confessing anything that is not pleasing to the God whom you’ve been called to worship.

Hands Out

A sign of receiving.

Read 2 Corinthians 1:3.

Don’t forget that your awesome God is with you today. Let Him know you are ready to receive His comfort, and through the power of the Spirit, you’re ready to obey anything He calls you to because you know He is with you.
