On a construction site, there are many different kinds of tools. Some exist to tear down and destroy, while others are meant to build up and mend. In life, we can be the kind of people who use our words and actions to tear others down or to build them up.

God wants us to build others’ faith, show mercy, and walk in His love (vv. 20-22). Like firemen, He wants us to snatch people from the flames (v. 23). God has called us to a dangerous and difficult task, but He is “able to protect you from stumbling” (v. 24). Walk in the assurance of the gospel and use your life to build up, mend, and rescue others.
