When we confess Jesus as Lord and repent from our sins, we are made into a new creation. Paul is writing to the church in Ephesus to remind them that we are to put away the old, sinful ways of life and walk in the life God calls us to! The “root” of our heart determines the “fruit” of our actions. This requires us to change our habits: cutting out the things in our lives that make it easy to sin, and spending time with God that brings our heart to a place of obedience. This should influence our actions in every aspect of our lives. It all starts with your heart!
