We read in Revelation that God promises us a full and final restoration when He comes again. We have been welcomed into this rest through the death and Resurrection of Jesus. We look forward to this new heaven and earth and wait for Him to fulfill those promises. This waiting isn’t like a waiting room where we can’t do anything but sit and be bored – this is an active and exciting waiting, like a countdown to vacation! We prepare our own hearts and share with others the truth of the Gospel. Let the excitement of this new year point you back to longing for heaven and thanking Him for your identity as a son or daughter of God in His presence.
