Week 20 Devo – MONDAY
One of the most important things we find in the Bible is what it teaches us about God’s love. In the first chapter of the Bible, we find out that God made man in His own image (Genesis 1:27). We were made to reflect His radiance and His glory (Matthew 5:14–16). From the beginning of creation, mankind was God’s prized creation. John 3:16 is a verse you may know which indicates just how much God loves us. It says that “God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever would believe in him would not perish, but have everlasting life.” When it says He loved the world, it is saying that He loved everyone in the world regardless of how they had lived in the past or what decisions they would make in the future. Because He was God, He could look at every single person ever born, and who would be born, and love each one with a perfect love that only He could exhibit. He loves each of us so much that He was willing to allow His only Son to be killed so we would not have to face eternal death.
Why does God love us so much? What does He love about you specifically?
