We are commanded to be holy, but this doesn’t happen by accident. God leads us to be set apart from our culture. He leads us by refining us, and part of His refinement looks like discipline to His children. This verse tells us to remember that God’s discipline is for our good because it teaches us to trust the Lord. He is helping us to share in His holiness.
