Why should we serve? As followers of Christ, we are called to serve. Service is not something a few of us are called to – it’s a command from God; it’s biblical; it’s for all Christians! In Deuteronomy 10, Moses describes serving as an act of obedience. He points out that to walk in obedience to God and to love Him is to serve Him. We are not on earth to serve ourselves, but the Lord above us, and not only Him, but those around us (Galatians 5). We are called to “serve one another” – to love the Lord and to fulfill His command, and to love our neighbors as well. This week we will be going through the spiritual discipline of serving, so take notes and pray for guidance in obedience to the Lord.
