Yesterday, we read about God’s promise to set the Israelites free. God was faithful to do as He said, and He led His people out of slavery and out of Egypt. As the people awaited a new way of life following the laws of the Lord, they began to doubt the faithfulness of the God they saw part the Red Sea. Even though the people of God turned to worship a golden calf, God didn’t abandon them. When Moses interceded for the people, God showed that His character is defined by mercy. Even when we are unfaithful, He remains faithful. He is always ready to forgive and restore us.
