God is righteous. This word means God is “good and right.” He is the ultimate source of what is right because He created right and wrong. As humans, we knew only good when God first created the world. Then we decided to be disobedient and eat of the fruit God told us not to. When we did, wrong entered the world and ever since then, we have struggled with being in the wrong and staying in the right.

But God is eternally right. He is forever good. There is no sin in Him, as there is in us. The reason Jesus came to die on the Cross was to forgive us of our wrong. He was the only human to live a perfect, righteous life.
