Looking at the world around us, we do not see a very high priority on the discipline of submission, yet it is something that we see exemplified in our Savior, Jesus. In the midst of great pain and suffering, Jesus is given the choice of taking things into His own hands or submitting to God the Father and embracing the pain that would come to Him. While we don’t always heed the call when God calls us to lean closer to Him, Jesus – in the midst of great pain – leaned in to what God was calling Him to do. He knew that He was called to lay down His life for all of humanity.
