The Bible is more than just words in a book written a long time ago. God uses it to dig deep into our hearts to show us what we are really like. Nothing can hide from God’s vision. There is a living power in the Bible that helps us to see what we cannot see. This passage also speaks of how God sees absolutely everything, even our deepest, darkest sins. There is nothing you can hide from Him, and you cannot fool Him into believing that you are completely obedient to Him. God wants us to use the Bible so that we can take that sin out of our lives, then God wants us to fill that void with obedience to the Lord. Why study the Bible? Because it exposes our deepest thoughts and desires. With the help of the Holy Spirit, God’s Word shows us our sin so we can repent (go in a different direction) and change. If we spend time with the Word of God, it will show us things we can’t see about ourselves that need to be made right. We serve a Holy God who wants us to be holy (1 Peter 1:16). Studying the Bible will help you live a holy life that is pleasing to God.
