Week 32 Devo – THURSDAY

Core Values

Did you know that Jesus was crucified between two criminals? Let’s allow these criminals to represent the people in our world. One of the criminals hated Jesus. However, Jesus did not respond with hate, but with love for all who had put Him on the Cross. “Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing.” As Jesus struggled to breathe and continued to suffer for those who hated Him, He chose to love them. He showed His love for them by staying on the cross and dropping every drop of blood for those who hated Him. The love we read here is unconditional, never-ending, and sacrificial. As Jesus died for those who mocked Him, He continued to love the people, even those who still deny Him today. Jesus did not just die for those who love Him. He faced the most painful death for everyone, even those who mocked, flogged, and spat at Him.

  • Have you ever faced someone who mocked Jesus? How did you react to that person’s statement?
  • Would you choose to die for someone who hated you?
  • Do your daily actions mock who Jesus is?
